Dan Medlock has been practicing law for more than 16 years. Dan graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science. Dan then obtained his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law. After graduating law school, he accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney in Jackson and Tillman Counties in Southwest Oklahoma. In 2011, he became an Assistant District Attorney in Muskogee County where he prosecuted a variety of different cases ranging from minor misdemeanors to major felonies. In 2015, Dan began a solo general practice in Muskogee and in 2019 Dan joined the Rusty Smith Law Group.
Dan has extensive experience in State and Federal Court handling criminal cases, juvenile deprived (DHS) cases, personal injury cases, complex civil litigation, insurance bad faith, premises liability, and insurance defense. Dan has handled thousands of cases over his career including over 75 jury trials. Dan is licensed to practice in all counties in the State of Oklahoma, the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Tribal Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Northern District of Oklahoma and Western District of Oklahoma.
Dan lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his wife Alexia who is a licensed clinical social worker. They are the proud parents of two young children.
