Former two-term Muskogee County District Attorney Larry D. Moore graduated with a B.A. in History from the Northeastern University and from there earned his Juris Doctorate in 1988 from the University of Tulsa College of Law. After law school Larry served as an Assistant District Attorney for Muskogee County, Oklahoma from 1988 to 1997, during which time he was appointed First Assistant District Attorney. During this time period Larry also received the Oklahoma State Wildlife Prosecutor of the Year award.
After nearly a decade in the Muskogee County DA’s office, in 1997 Larry entered private practice with a well-known Muskogee law firm. Larry’s time in private practice allowed him to gain invaluable insight and experience in a wide array of general litigation settings, from family and domestic law to criminal defense to personal injury. By that time, Larry began to consider public service again and, after nine years in private practice, ran for and was elected as Muskogee County District Attorney. Larry considers his time from 2008 to 2014 as Muskogee County District Attorney to be a great honor.
During his time as Muskogee County DA, Larry also served as the District Attorney with the FBI violent task force, while at the same time being a certified CLEET instructor for the Muskogee Police Department and an advisor to Muskogee County municipality law enforcement agencies. Larry has also given his time as an adjunct instructor for Connors State College in the criminal justice department and is currently the Town Attorney for Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Larry’s areas of practice include family law, criminal defense, probate, wills, personal injury, and guardianships.
Larry lives in For Gibson, Oklahoma with his wife of 39 years, Michelle. They are the proud parents of two children and 4 grandchildren. Larry is licensed to practice in the State of Oklahoma and the United States District Court for the Eastern District.
